Second solo game sees Ra, Haka and Future-Alt Wraith vs Citizen Dawn in Megalopolis (which I was pronouncing Meg-opolis until I just now looked up the name)I noticed Citizen Dawn's power, that she flips when She gets Citizens in the discard pile. I also noticed Haka's Savage Mana, which I immediately played. Then I did my best to keep Citizens from getting KOed until Haka could do it, thus keeping them out of the discard pile and instead under Savage Mana. Ra, meanwhile, was setting up a crazy stream of ongoings that boosted every hero and even made them immune to fire damage in some key moments. Wraith also participated.
Then Dawn played some kind of board reset and I never quite recovered. EXCEPT I was anticipating an eventual flood of Citizens, and kept two copies of Haka's Rampage on hand. In two consecutive turns I must have wiped out seven Citizens! Plus Wraith.
Then came Citizen Spring. Never before have I known true (cartoon character) love, the way I knew true (cartoon character) love when Citizen Spring hit the table. I couldn't bring myself to harm one hair on her beautiful head. Fortunately, Dawn went down quickly after that.
Final HP totals: Haka-3, Ra-1. This was a win that I desperately needed. And in the nick of time too. I would not have lasted one more villain turn.
Haka is definitely in the running for favorite hero, his level of strategy is right at my ability to handle. And Ra (as mentioned above, by Dave) is also a strong contender.
Looking forward to trying Tachyon, might do it next game regardless of the heroes picked by the randomizer. I do like blondes. She's the blonde, right?
