played two sessions over the weekend. 3 player game on both times. The first time we selected Citizen of Dawn (?) and the second time Omnitron.

Results:
The game proved impossible to beat or even come close to feel that you are actually making a difference. Most of the time we were struggling to keep cards on us let alone damage the overlords. We had spectre, some phycic dudeess and a gun-ho robot as heroes.

Pros:
-Good art
-Theme

Cons
-Repetitive powercards, little variety on the hero deck
-Weak "super heroes"
-brutal difficulty even on the lowest level of Overlords
-basic mechanics
-uninspiring gameplay
-"heroes" that are more "Pls do not hurt me or I will tell mommy" than "I am Mr Badass"

We gave up the first game after 3 turns cause it would have been impossble to win. We got 1 minion that healed the boss, 1 minion that damaged us and 1 that forces you to discard a card.

We managed to play the second game to death (i.e. our death) and we had barely scratched the villain. Everytime we managed to defeat a minion it would either come back in play or something worse would be drawn from the villain deck.

End verdict:
I like co-op games, especially ones that offer a challenge. This game however is simply NOT fun. There is very little to do on your turn. Most of our time on the game was spent resolving the villain phase and then the environment phase, both of which were not even players! Both of those phases also resulted on us taking tons of damage or losing cards.

I have read some of the reviews here and I do not know if these guys played a different game to us. One thing is for certain: I would not be playing this game ever again. (feel kinda bad for my friend, who bought this game and was so excited to play it).

There are far better co-op, heavily themed games out there than this. Might not be superhero ones, but then again, neither is this one. It should be titled:

Vilains of the Multiverse ft. some weakings
