Thread: Sentinels of the Multiverse:: General:: Has soloing "ruined" SotM for me?

The first time I played this game was with two other friends. I remember playing Ra and being underwhelmed. During the Kickstarter for Shattered Timelines, I started reading more and more about the game (and its improved enhanced edition) and fell in love with the genre fluff (as a recovering comic book addict) and decided to get the enhanced edition base. After a couple of plays, I jumped in and bought all of the expansions.

Now I have soloed the game about a dozen times, but have started to worry....when I do play this game in a group setting and am only playing one hero, will I still be as enthusiastic???? Instead of looking across all four heroes and getting excited to have solid plays from one or more of them, even if another hero has a "meh" draw, will I be as excited to watch another teammate have all the "fun"?

This was driven home by a game I just soloed tonight. After 2 heroes were incapacitated, leaving Visionary and Haka, I used the Telekinetic Cocoon to make Visionary immune to damage. This made her a tank for purposes of high/low hitpoints. Between that and using the incapacitated Tempest to make Haka immune to the most concerning damage type, and Chrono-Ranger's incapacitated help to retrigger haka, I was able to build up a massive Savage Mana strike with Haka and win the game. This was great fun for me as a soloist, seeing all of the pieces fit together but wouldn't have been as fun for the non-Haka players.

Am I being paranoid? For those of you that have soloed and gone back to group play (or flip back and forth), how has this affected your appreciation of the game?
